Position Description

Our Support Staff play a crucial role in this mission, providing essential assistance to participants and ensuring our programs are inclusive, accessible, and engaging.

 

Job Responsibilities: 

● Provide direct support and assistance to youth and young adults during programs and events. 

● Help facilitate activities, ensuring that they are accessible, inclusive, and tailored to the abilities of each participant. 

● Collaborate with team members to plan and deliver programs and activities. 

● Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all participants. 

● Respond to participants' needs or concerns in a sensitive, respectful, and timely manner. 

● Assist participants with personal care, as needed (i.e. toileting, feeding, transferring, etc.) 

● Monitor and report on the progress and well-being of participants. 

● Supervise volunteers during programming: provide coaching and modeling to volunteers on how to engage with participants, and answer volunteer questions and concerns 

● Assist with the setup, operation, and clean-up of programs and events. 

● Communicate regularly with the Volunteer Coordinator, Program Director, and Teaching Artists to ensure all students have the support they need, and to communicate any concerns. 

● Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
