Position Description
Cottage Grove High School is seeking a Advance Math Teacher starting the 2026-2027 school year who is skilled at creating both meaningful relationships and engaging lessons to inspire students to appreciate math while building skills and knowledge. This permanent position would be an important part of an experienced and energetic math department, as well as a school staff with the mission to partner with parents and the community to help students find their direction for their future.
Cottage Grove High School has 600 students in grades 9-12 and promotes a welcoming and positive experience for all students. CGHS prides itself in offering students a wide variety of courses, opportunities and experiences to challenge and prepare them for tomorrow. CGHS strives to be a local leader in CTE, technology and instruction.
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon teaching certificate with a advanced math endorsement (or the ability to obtain)
- Experience teaching math at the secondary level
- Demonstrated abilities to plan and implement instruction a around district curriculum guides
- Possess effective and consistent classroom management
- Ability to work and communicate with students, teachers, parents and administrators
- Ability to contribute in a meaningful way with an experienced team of instructors as part of professional learning communities
Preferred Qualities
- Experience and certification with College Now or other college credit earning opportunities for students
- ESOL endorsements preferred
- Evidence of multi-cultural experience and cultural competency
- Bilingual proficiency and/or multicultural experience strongly preferred
- Willingness to coach and/or advise sports, clubs or activities

Salary
Salary will be determined by the experience and degree level in accordance with the licensed
salary schedule.
