Tonya is the daughter of Loretta Kusak and Anton Charles Kusak III of Seattle. Tonya earned her undergraduate degree and Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington. She is currently employed by the Issaquah School District. John Austin is the son of Mary Anne and Walter Ruf of Bellingham. He is a graduate of the University of Washington and is employed by Microsoft.
